Flight and Flow
Aerial Yoga . Beginner or Intermediate

What to expect

...and breathe

Classes begin with a relaxation period to allow you to arrive in your silks and leave the outside world behind. You are essentially floating inside a hammock where you feel cocooned, safe and weightless. Take this time for some breathing techniques and gentle stretches to set your intention before your ascent.

Get bendy

Once we are all happily relaxed and ready for our warm up, we will practise some gentle routines to stretch and get our bodies moving. We like to mix it up a little, so every class will feature different postures and flows.

Inversions

Change your perspective

No aerial yoga class is complete without a little upside down. This might feel odd at first, but once you get the hang of it (see what I did there!) then you’ll often be pestering me to be upside down!

There’s nothing more wonderful than the feeling of the spine gently decompressing with the help of gravity. Full demonstrations are performed and you will be guided through all inversions very slowly. Take your time, do what you feel is comfortable for you, hang out and chill!

Tricks

Roll up, Roll up

Occasionally we will want to perform some Insta-worthy tricks and bring a little Circus flair into the studio. Once again, full guidance and assistance will be provided, and you will listen to your body and try these postures safely and gradually at your own pace. Or you might just decide to have a little lie down in your hammock and laugh at me instead. Its all fair game.

Savasana

Floating on air

All of our classes end with a blissful, generous relaxation period in the hammock. If you haven't tried a Savasana floating in the silks before, then you are in for a real treat.

You will never want to lie on your cold, hard yoga mat again!

Float and Flow
Restorative Aerial Yoga

What to expect

Let's slow it all down

This class combines long luxurious stretches and gentle low inversions close to the ground.

In the Restorative aerial yoga classes, you are supported by the aerial hammocks which are positioned just below knee height. This class is practised using the silks and natural hemp bolsters. These deeply relaxing classes feature more gentle inversions suspending the legs in the hammock, whilst keeping the shoulders and upper torso on the mat. Breath awareness and Pranayama breathing techniques play a large part in reducing the 'stress' hormone Cortisol, thus stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system to reach a more meditative state.

Supported deeper stretches and delicious supine twists aid a full range of lumbar spine movement and thoracic expansion, combined with a slow and soothing hip and heart-opening practice.

This class is wonderful for anyone who wants to de-stress, unwind and breathe. You'll leave feeling like you've had a massage!  Restorative aerial also complements our regular aerial yoga class for a combined physical and holistic practice. This class is also more accessible for people who may be recovering from injury, have limited mobility, or anyone who may be unable to participate in more intense aerial yoga sessions.

Pranayama

Just breathe

Pranayama is our life force. Our vitality! The literal translation means to "master life force". The fuel behind our practice is the energetics of breathwork; the mastery of fully efficient deep conscious breathing.

From the simplest yet most effective equalisation of breath to the diaphragmatic driven Kapalbhati; regular practice of these essential and incredible breathing techniques during all of our classes will enhance your experience and your lives inside and outside of the studio.

Alongside the classes, we will be running regular workshops to really get comfortable in the hammocks. On top of this, we can offer 1-2-1 aerial yoga sessions, corporate team building classes and even classes for special occasions! Get in touch.
